Son of Nancy Ann McCoy and Charles Woodson Harris
Husband of (1) Susan Elizabeth Sholar, (2) Ida Parkman Wills, and (3) Attie Hooper McGowan
As a young boy, Frank Harris moved from Mississippi to Shelby County, Texas, with his father and brothers about 1875, following the death of Frank's mother. Charles Woodson Harris settled with his sons in the Eagle Mill community. Later, Frank also bought a farm in the Eagle Mill community and lived there until his death in 1925.
On December 19, 1887, Frank married Susan Elizabeth Sholar, the daughter of Eliza Scott and David Sholar. Frank and Susan had 6 children before she died on October 8, 1899, and was buried in Sholar Cemetery. Her father had donated the land for this cemetery. Frank then married Ida Parkman Wills, divorced with one son, on March 24, 1901. Frank and Ida also had a son before her death on December 22, 1907. On July 7, 1909, Frank married widow Attie Hooper McGowan.
Frank, a farmer and merchant, owned a farm in Eagle Mill and a farm in the Tennessee community. He owned and operated a general merchandise store in the Tennessee community, and later owned and operated a store in Paxton. His obituary described him as "one of the county's most progressive farmers, and was well known and loved for his honesty and truthfulness." Frank was a member of the Christian Church and Woodmen of the World. He died at his home in the Sholar community following a short illness. Rev. W. H. Marler, pastor of the Christian Church, Center, conducted funeral services in a heavy rainstorm at the Baptist Church at Truitt Chapel. Survivors included his wife, 4 daughters and 3 sons.
