Andrew "Andy" W. Butler, Jr., 81, of 111 Frances Street, husband of Ruth Still Butler, died Friday, December 28, 2007 at Hospice House.
Born in Aiken, he was a son of the late Andrew and Mattie C. Butler. After retiring from the U.S. Navy with 20 years of service, he retired from Carolina Pride after 29 years of service. He was a member, past deacon and Sunday school superintendent of Pine Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church.
He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Surviving including his wife of the home are a son, Rev. Barry Butler and his wife Lynn of Greenwood; a daughter, Donna B. Simmons and her husband Billy; and two grandchildren, Jordan Simmons and Hannah Simmons.
Funeral services with full military rites will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday at Pine Grove Pentecostal Holiness church, with the Rev. Barry Butler, Rev. Robert Still and the Rev. Lloyd Morgan officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens
Pallbearers will be Shane Weatherford, Wayne Quarles, Gerald Edwards, Rob Still, Bill McDowell and Leon Edwards.
The family will receive friends at Harley Funeral Home on Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m.
The family is at the home.
