On October 26, 1919, San Angelo Police Officer, Charles Wallace Anderson, was driving San Angelo Chief of Police, George Cunningham, around the downtown area when
they noticed the street light on S. Oakes at the Orient railroad tracks was not working. Patrolman Anderson stopped to fix the light and while doing so was electrocuted.
