Rose Emma Johnson -- Hayfield

HAYFIELD -- The funeral for Rose Emma Johnson will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hayfield with the Rev. Stephan Sandness officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Hayfield.
Mrs. Johnson, 88, of Hayfield, a homemaker, died Sunday (Dec. 19, 1999) at Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester.
Rose Emma Johnson was born June 16, 1911, in Woodhull, Ill., and graduated from Hayfield High School. On Nov. 28, 1936, she married Kenneth A. Johnson at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hayfield. They farmed south of Oslo for 54 years and moved to Hayfield following their retirement in 1990. Her husband died in 1993. Mrs. Johnson had resided at Field Crest Care Center in Hayfield since 1996. She had been a member of Trinity Lutheran Church since 1925 and belonged to the church circle. She enjoyed crocheting and flower gardening.
Survivors include a daughter, Ramona (Mrs. Darrell) Jacobson of Blooming Prairie; two sons, Willard of Mission Viejo, Calif., and David of Hudson, Wis.; six grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by an infant grandson, two sisters and a brother.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Czaplewski Family Funeral Home in Hayfield and an hour before the service Thursday at the church.
