Willie G. Shelton, 89, of Wythe County, Virginia, son of the late Neva and George Shelton, passed away September 25, 2008, at Wythe County Community Hospital.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Madeline Reynolds Shelton; and a sister, Nellie Shelton. Willie, a US Army-Air Force Veteran of World War II, was retired from Radford Army Ammunition Plant and was a member of Grover King VFW Post 1115 of Hillsville and the Oil, Chemical and Atomic Workers International Union.

He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Survivors include his wife, Glenia Ogle Spencer Shelton, of the home; daughter, Deborah Shelton Wood; granddaughter, Kristen Wood; stepchildren, Curtis Spencer, Zana Spencer Stone, Janice Spencer Sutherland, Lowetta Spencer Parnell; several grandchildren; sisters, Fannie S. Alexander, Emma Shelton, Mamie S. Daugherty; nephew, Conrad Alexander.
nieces, Peggy Daugherty Smith and Iris Alexander Brown.

Funeral services will were held Saturday, September 27, 2008 at 7 p.m. at the Reese Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Holly Phillips officiating. A graveside service was held Sunday at 1 p.m. at Sanders Cemetery on Major Graham Road in Wythe County, Virginia.
