Conrad Wesley Zimmerman living about three miles northwest of Cedar Vale, died last Friday, May 22nd, of heart failure, about 12:30 p.m. Mr. Zimmerman had been in poor health since he was dragged by a team last fall, but a few days before the time of his death was feeling the best he had felt for some time. He had eaten his dinner and was sitting in the room talking with his two sons. During the conversation he suddenly dropped over and before his sons could reach him he had breathed his last. The funeral services were conducted at the house and the interment was made in the Zimmerman cemetery Saturday afternoon.

C. W. Zimmerman was born in Ross County, Ohio, June 28, 1846; moved to Illinois where he resided for some time. Here he was married to Miss Maggie Pierce on August 1, 1867. He moved to Kansas in 1870 and settled in Neosho County at Erie. After a year spent there he removed to Cowley County and settled on the farm where he had resided ever since.
