Richard Newlen 16, East Liverpool High School junior, went to his death in the rapids of Beaver creek at Fredericktown late Monday afternoon.
Newlen was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Newlen of 907 Montgomery Ave. He was a junior in High School and delivered papers for The Review.
Besides his father and his mother he leaves a younger brother, Curtis at home.
Rev. P.E. Secrest pastor of the First Methodist Episcopal church held funeral services.
