Mrs. Fannie M. Darby, 88, died Sunday, August 26, 2001, in Atmore.

Darby was preceded in death by her parents, Hugh and Annie Morris Manning.

She is survived by her husband, George Washington Darby of Davisville; four sons, Jack Darby and his wife, Sheri, of Atmore, Ralph Darby and his wife, Katie, of Bratt, Billy Darby and his wife, Jackie, of Oak Grove and James Alfred Darby and his wife Opal, of Gordon, Ala.; two daughters, Annette Hassebrock and her husband, Hermon, of Bratt and Dorthy Reaves and her husband, Bill, of Robinsonville; a sister, Bertha Blackmon of Semes,; a sister-in-law, Dot Manning of Wilmer, Ala.; eleven Ggrandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 28 at 10 a.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Rice, the Rev. Larry Gilley, and the Rev. Mike Grindle officiating.

Burial followed at Pine Barren Cemetery .

Active pallbearers were Joey Darby, James E. Darby, Greg Darby, Phillip Webb, Chivas Thompson, and Judson Locke.

Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home, Inc., was in charge of arrangements.
