Mr. Lawrence Calvin "Pappa" Perryman, age 88, of the Liberty-Ohio community, passed away Friday, September 1, 2000.
Mr. Perryman was born August 6, 1912, in Belton, Texas. He moved as a small child with his parents, Lawrence and Myrtle Blair Perryman, to the Liberty-Ohio community. He attended school at Liberty and Gatesville, before finishing at Tarleton. He married the former Miss Jewel Hedgpeth on December 11, 1932, and they continued to make their home in the Liberty-Ohio community. Mr. Perryman was a civil engineer for 40 years, retiring in 1978. He also loved photography, fishing and flower gardening, but mostly loved being with his wife and family. He was a member of the Purmela Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Jewel Perryman ; a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Raymond Jones of Purmela; four grandchildren and spouses, Debbie and Keith Leach, Jeanine and Trey Mensch, Mike and Tara Jones, and Julie and Mark Farquhar; 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Isabelle Flippen of Evant; and a brother, Ralph Perryman of Purmela.
