One place give his birth place, Tuscumbia, Franklin, Co., , possibly before the counties were divided.

James "Wash" married Mary "Molly" Ann Thompson on Jan. 20, 1859.
Wash's parents were Jesse and Sintha "Rhoda" Bolton Jones.

They had 7-8 children, 3 girls are not listed. Mary Lida, b. March 04, 1862; Edna b. June 30,1871; and Lillian b. March 1876. Don't know who they married.

James Washington served as 1st. Lt. in CSA Co. E 4th. Calvary Div. Roddey's. Wounded in leg in 1863. Continued walking with a limp. I don't know if he desserted the army or not. In 1866 he and his family went to San Sabba, TX.
He became a big cattle farmer. At one he had over, 100,000
