Wife - Victoria Louisa /Foote/

Parents - George Washington /Cummings/ and Pheby Jane /FERGUSON/

I have photographed and posted every headstone in the cemetery and am now in the process of including photos and bios from Millville Memories, A history of Millville, Utah, From 1860 to 1990. I thought you might want to add this bio for Charles Cummings.
Lee A. Hillard

Charles Cummings was the son of George Washington and Pheobe Jane Fergusson Cummings. Charles was born at Nankin, Wayne County, Michigan. He and his family were victims of the persecution in Nauvoo. He, his mother and his siblings lived in a wagon box after his father marched away with the Mormon Battalion. As a youth, he took his father's place as a Pony Express Rider between Nephi and Fillmore, Utah. On February 18, 1858, he married Victoria Louisa Foote, who was born November 7, 1841, at Nauvoo, Illinois, to Timothy Bradley and Jane Ann Russell Foote. She was the first President of the Young Ladies' Organization in Millville Ward. Charles was a freighter and a breeder of fine horses. He was called to help bring the Saints from Omaha to Utah. For a time, the family lived at the Church Farm and took care of the cattle. On November 10, 1873, he married Anna Carolina Jonson as a plural wife. She was born December 5, 1852, in Copenhagen, Denmark, the daughter of Jons and Anna Persson Jonson. She was a convert to the Church and came to Millville with her mother. She later divorced Charles and married Peter Hartvigsen of Hyrum. She died October 11, 1893; and Victoria died June 30, 1892. Charles and Victoria Foote were the parents of one son: George Timothy Cummings (Francis Cecelia Weaver). Charles and Anna Carolina Jonson were also the parents of one son: Charles Alma Cummings (Hidvie Trolson).
