Bert Staines, a prominent farmer of Bushnell, passed away on Thursday morning at the hospital in Greenville after several weeks illness.
Mr. Staines leaves, besides his wife, one daughter, Mrs. William Rutherford, and one son, Harry, and four grandchildren, besides a host of friends and relatives.
His sister, Mrs. W.K. Kellogg, of Battle Creek, passed away a few years ago. They were the children of John Staines, a pioneer resident of Bushnell.
Funeral service was held Sunday afternoon from Stebbins funeral home, with interment in the Palo cemetery.
Mr. and Mrs. George Gilbert of Millersville, Md., came to attend the funeral of Bert Staines and are visiting at the home of Mrs. Roy Wilson, his former schoolmate and both pupils of Mrs. W.K. Kellogg.
