WENATCHEE - Alvin L. Keeton, 77, Wenatchee, a former resident of Leavenworth, died early Saturday morning, Nov. 12, 1994, in Central Washington Hospital.

He was born July 7, 1917, in Witham, Mo., to John William and Mary Alice (Persyn) Keeton. He grew up in Arkansas and Missouri.

He married Opal Elizabeth Coker on March 28, 1938, in Pineville, Mo. They moved to the Wenatchee area in 1939. He entered the U.S. Marine Corps on May 8, 1945, and served in China during World War II. He was discharged in October of 1946 in San Diego and returned to Leavenworth, where he owned and operated a service station and a sporting goods business for a number of years. He later worked for the Peshastin Fruit Growers Co. in the maintenance department. He lived in the Lake Wenatchee area and moved to Plain in 1984. He moved to Wenatchee in the summer of 1993.

Mr. Keeton was a member of the Chumstick Grange, American Legion Post No. 85 and Wenatchee Eagles Lodge Aerie No. 204.

Survivors include his close friends, Joan Weiss, Wenatchee, and Delbert and Joanne Keifer, Leavenworth. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1992.

At his request, there are no services.

Arrangements are by Ward's Funeral Chapel, Leavenworth.
