Watson G Niver died January 19 at the home of his youngest daughter, Mrs Walter P Mallett, of Rensselaer.

Mr Niver was the son of the late Henry and Polly Carroll Niver. He was born in Copake Aug 11, 1849, where he lived the greater part of his life, nine years ago moving to Pleasantville, NY, where he was in business. He was spending Christmas with his daughter when stricken with heart disease. Constant care from his devoted wife, daughter and nurse could not restore this loved one to health. Mr Niver was a kind, devoted father and husband, his greatest ambition being his home and family, where he was always found.

He leaves a widow and four children: Harry Niver, Mrs Frank Lay of Pleasantville, NY, Mrs Walter Mallett of Rensselaer and Mrs Fred Tripp of Ancram. Five grandchildren, Geo Herbert Mallett and Wilma Mallett of Rensselaer, Frances Lay of Pleasantville, Mrs William Borland of Chatham, and Clifton Tripp of Ancram; one great-grandson, John Keith Borland of Chatham; two brothers, Chas Niver of Ancram and William Niver of Port Royal, SC.
