Emily C. Blacklidge was born at Huntsville, Madison county, Indiana, Dec. 20, 1845, died April 18, 1895. At the age of fifty years, four months and twenty-three days. She was united in marriage to James M. Blacklidge, Feb. 18, 1886.She joined the Methodist Episcopal church and was converted in 1887. She was faithful in all her Christian duties and during her last sickness was patient, though often expressing a desire to depart and be at rest. She was greatly respected in the community in which she resided, this being demonstuated by the large number that attended her funeral. In her death the church has suffered a great loss, Brother Blacklidge, a faithful companion, the aged mother, a loving daughter. But our loss is her eternal gain. F.A. Fish
