RALPH R. CORLEY, SR.

Ralph R. Corley, Sr., age 66, of Venice, Fla., and former resident of Carthage, passed away Jan. 9, 2008.

He was born in El Dorado, Ark., on July 22, 1941. Mr. Corley was an engineering manager and corporate safety engineer for Alcoa and Kaiser Aluminum. He worked at many locations around the world including Ghana, Africa and Perth in Western Australia. He was an honor graduate of Carthage High School, Class of 1959, and graduated with honors from Southern Methodist University in 1964 with a Bachelor of Science Degree. He was a Registered Professional Engineer and a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers' Society of Western Pennsylvania and Texas. He was also a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Newburgh, Ind., the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity and the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association. He was interested in reading, golf, antique cars and was a World War II and Civil War expert.

Surviving family members include his wife Sharron (Denney) Corley; two sons; one sister and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his son, Randy Corley.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, in the First United Methodist Church, Carthage. Rev. James Lee will officiate. Burial will be in Park Cemetery, Carthage.
