In 1891, Isaac lived in Saint Francis with Herbert Craig. He was a laborer then and a presbyterian. He and his family lived in a house that looked right up the St Francis River, on the opposite side of the main road. This house is no longer there.

According to his daughter, Loretta. and his son, Cecil, Isaac and his family moved to Unity, Maine about 1936, and ran a shingle mill at Farwell's Mill, also in Unity, at the confluence of Sandy Stream and Halfmoon Stream. The shingle mill was powered by falling water at the dam. There were other dams up river and the mills located there would shut off the gates at the dams to fill their ponds so they could opearate again. When this occurred, Isaac would be forced to shut his mill down because there wasn't any water to power his saws. He sometimes would be forced to run his mill at night after the water at the other dams started spilling. They moved to Unity Village, about 1944.
