Calvin David Adamson was the son of Gustave Adamson and Effie Minnie Alford. Effie married Gustave on September 10, 1923 in Provo, Utah. They had Ruth Adamson 1925; Lavon "Bonnie" Adamson 1926-1938; buried Lehi City Cemetery; Calvin David Adamson 1937-1952; and Ella Mae Anderson 1937.

Calvin David Adamson was the grandson of Sidney Wilson Alford and Magnolia Florence Curtis. Sidney Wilson Alford was born June 13, 1885 in Mississippi and died 1920 in Memphis, Shelby County, Tennessee. Magnolia Florence Curtis was born 1885 in Mississippi. By the 1910 federal census, Magnolia was in Lehi Ward 3,Utah County, Utah, living with daughters Effie and Evelyn and her mother Julia, widowed. Magnolia died 1960 in Lehi, Utah County, Utah. She is buried at Lehi City Cemetery as Magnolia Florence Beverly; see Find A Grave Memorial #54761367. Magnolia had children with all three husbands. Magnolia and Sidney Alford had Effie Minnie Alford and Evelyn Jennie Alford - Evelyn married Burton Eugene "Sandy" Crump. Magnolia and William Karren had Opal, Willima, N. Merle, Leona Julia and Blaine William. Magnolia and James F. Beverly had Thelma Ada and Anna Geraldine.

On January 24, 1880 he married Julia Edwards in Benton County, Mississippi. (His brother David Curtis married Alice Mooney on December 13, 1878 in Marshall County, Mississippi.) William Franklin Curtis and Julia Edwards' children were Robert Jackson Curtis (Julia's son whom Wm Franklin Curtis adopted), Effie Bell Curtis, Gustave F. Curtis, and Magnolia Florence Curtis.

Calvin David Adamson was the GG-grandson of George Curtis and Jane (maiden name unknown) Curtis. George Curtis was born about 1827 in Jackson County, Tennessee. He married first wife Jane in September 1850 in Tishomingo County, Mississippi, and they had David, Susan, John, William Franklin, and Nancy. Jane died about 1862 and George Curtis married second Sabra Louisa Rose, daughter of Benjamin Boone Rose and Malinda Turnbow. George Curtis and Sabra Louisa Rose Curtis had George Hillary, Thomas A, and Edward. George Curtis died about 1878 in Pope County, Arkansas.

He and his family were in Tishomingo County, Mississippi in 1837; they were enumerated there on the 1840 federal census, 1845 state census and 1850 federal census. They were enumerated on 1860 federal census in Rock Hill p.o., Independence, Pope County, Arkansas. Neither Hillary nor wife Susannah are found on the 1870 federal census. They are buried at Forks of the Creek Cemetery, Hector, Pope County, Arkansas.

His wife Patsey was born about 1765 in Virginia and died before 1810 in Union District, South Carolina. We know the name of Moses Curtis' wife from a Deed of Conveyance from Moses Curtis to John Goodwin where Patsey Curtis, Wife of Moses Curtis, relinquished her claim of dower 27th day of March 1801 in Union District, South Carolina.
