Ethel was born in Council Grove, Kansas to George and Goldie Campmire on September 25, 1925 and was the widow of the late MSGT Gene S. Axtell. USAF (Ret). She was a long-time member of Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, where she was active as long as her health permitted. Ethel was preceded in death by three brothers, and a daughter, Linda Rae Axtell. Survivors include her son, Robert G. Axtell; daughter, Terry K Meier, both of San Antonio; 3 grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Wayne and Freddie Stamm of Topeka, Kansas; and sister Iva Sutton of Hawthorne, Florida.
For those who desire, memoiral contributations may be made to the American Cancer Society or Mount Olive Lutheran Church.
Interment will follow the services at 11:30 a.m. in Forth Sam Houston National Cemetery.
