Goldie May (Corbin) Baker was was born the daughter of Joshua McWhorter Corbin, and Martha Ann (Borders) Corbin. Goldie was born Mar 7, 1896 in Wessington Springs, Jerauld County, South Dakota. She died November 18th, 1983 in Puyallup, Pierce County, Washington.

Goldie married Birchal Baker on September 25, 1913. Their children were Sidney M., Stanley H., Virgil D., Richard E. and Vance W. Baker.

Goldie's siblings were Byron James, Benjamin Homer, Janet Cora, John Casswell, Clarence Howard, Joshua Marion, Walter DeVerne, Wilbur Eugene, Ruby Rex, Cecil Pearl, and Sidney Wallace Corbin.

She was born at a time the pioneering spirit was still moving in this country, and her parents and brother's and sisters were all a part of it. Prior to her birth, her family had residence in Illinois, Iowa, and Kansas.

After her father's retirement from the Reservation in South Dakota, most of them headed for Oregon, and later, Washington.
