Albert Ferman Bailey of Route 1 started out to hunt, Saturday forenoon, November 8, 1930, having a shotgun, revolver and his dog. He did not return that evening. His parents notified the people. Searching crews from Rockton, PA, the neighboring community and DuBois, PA with his father began to scour Laurel Ridge. His dog was found; then about 11:45pm Clair Huey, a neighbor, discovered his dead body in some brush about one half mile from the deceased's home. it is thought that his .45 caliber revolver, found close by, was accidently discharged in some unknown manner. The bullet had entered his right leg, severing a large blood vessel, perhaps causing almost instant death.

Albert was born September 17, 1910, being a little over 20 years old. He was educated in the Union Township public schools, a 1930 graduate of Brady Township High School, and this fall had entered DuBois Business College. He joined the Lutheran Church at 12 years of age. Was Vice President of the Luther League Society (organized September 14, 1930) of same church.

There survive his parents, Mr and Mrs M.R. Bailey; three brothers, Russell of Cumberland, MD, Kenneth and Romaine, Jr at home. Two brothers preceded him in death.

Short services were held at his late home; then the funeral sermon was given by his pastor, Rev Martin F Foutz Tuesday afternoon, November 11, in the Lutheran Church. Interment in Rockton Cemetery, Rockton, PA.
