Mary was converted among the German Methodists and united with the Evangelical Church in 1851, of which she was a member until her death. She left a husband and 5 children to mourn her death. The funeral took place at the Evangelical Church on 17 May 1886. She was 84 years 5 months and 7 days old. Her children were:
