Geraldine R. "Geri" Cousino, 86, of Swanton, Ohio and formerly of Wellington St., Toledo, passed away on October 18, 2008, in St. Luke's Hospital, Maumee. Geri was born September 13, 1922, in Toledo, the daughter of Frank and Nellie (Bateson) Thompkins. She had worked for Chase Bag Co. but mainly was a beautician, first at the Lion Store then for neighbors and friends out of her home. Geri was a wonderful mother and mother-in-law and cherished the time spent with her family. She was an excellent cook known for her fried chicken and she loved animals. Geri was preceded in death by her loving husband, Homer and her brother, Ivan Thompkins. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Edward (Ethel), Leonard (Jean), Bonnie (Terry) Durham, Terry (JoAnne), Darlene (Jim) Batdorf and Ron (Shelly); 25 grandchildren; 31 great-grand-children and 4 great-great-grand-children; sisters-in-law, Lucille Thompkins, Lilas Burnell and Mary Lou (George) Bumbera. Family and friends may visit Monday from 2-8 p.m. at the W.K. Sujkowski & Son Funeral Home, 3838 Airport Hwy., where services will be held Tuesday, October 21, 2008, at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at West Union Cemetery, Gibsonburg, Ohio. The family prefers tributes be directed to the Toledo Humane Society.
