Pneumonia Fatal - Mrs. Lillie Polk Tipton, ninteeen years of age died at 9 o'clock last evening of pneumonia at the residence of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Butler Tipton in Reed's addition, South Colorado Springs.

The funeral will take place tomorrow afternoon. Besides her parents, Mrs. Tipton leaves a two year old child. Her father, Mr. Butler Tipton, is in the hills of Cripple Creek, and the family has not been able to communicate with him as yet.

Per records found at the Colorado Springs Library, the Death Register states she was born in Missouri and was 19 years, 1 month, 19 days old.

Per the Birth Date Calendar; her birthday would have been November 16, 1880.

There are some graves that you can walk past and share your thoughts and respects for them and their families. Then there are graves like Lillie's where you just find yourself automatically attracted to it for reasons unknown to you.

Lillie's grave is located in what used to be called Potter's Field; the name changed to the Pioneer section. Now volunteers, like myself and my grandsons, do our best to keep the graves adorned with colorful flowers and free of weeds.

If anyone has any information or a picture of Lillie, I would love to have you add it to this memorial.
