CARL LOCKHART
Carl C. Lockhart, 46, of 1212 Oakwood Ave., a truck driver for the City Street Department and a World War II veteran was pronounced dead on arrival Sunday at 11:30 a.m. at City Hospital. He had taken ill earlier at home.
He was born in Woodsfield, March 21, 1922, a son of Frank M. Lockhart, who resides in East Liverpool and the late Stella Sams Lockhart. He had resided in the East Liverpool area since 1941. He had been with the street department the last three years, working last on Saturday. He was a member of the Beechwood Free Methodist Church and the Municipal Employees Local 677.
Besides his father, he is survived by his widow, Mrs. Gail Low Lockhart; a son, Kenneth Lockhart; four daughters, Miss Marie Lockhart, Miss Vera Lockhart, Carla Lockhart and Barbara Lockhart, all at home; another daughter, Miss Margaret Ann Lockhart of Rockport, W.Va.; five brothers, William Lockhart, Charles Lockhart, Herbert Lockhart and Robert Lockhart, all of East Liverpool and Lloyd Lockhart of Hammondsville; five sisters, Luella Lockhart of East Liverpool, Mrs. Delmar (Lura) Logston of Wellsville, Mrs. Paul (Lenora) Sosa of San Jose, Calif., Mrs. Willard (Hazel) Smith and Mrs. Floyd (Opal) Claus, both of Salem.
Services will be held Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. at the Martin Funeral Home by the Rev. Roy Perkins. Burial will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Jerrys Run Cemetery near Rockport.
Friends may call at the Martin Funeral Home tonight.
