Obituary
Funeral services for Ada Opal Rust, age 83, of Richville, MN, will be Thursday, April 8, 2004, beginning at 2:00 p.m., at Schoeneberger Funeral Home, Perham, MN, with Reverend Rod Tornquist officiating. Burial will follow in the Richville Village Cemetery, Richville, MN. Visitation at Schoeneberger Funeral Home is from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 7, 2004, as well as one hour prior to the funeral on Thursday. Ada died at the Perham Memorial Nursing Home, Saturday, April 3, 2004.

Ada was born the daughter of Ora and Lottie (Baker) Castle, in Wolverton, MN, on March 25, 1921. She attended school in Richville through the eighth grade and then Perham High School through the eleventh grade. Ada was united in marriage to Carl G. Rust, in 1940, and moved to Menahga, MN, where Carl was employed. After living in Menagha for about one year, they moved to the Maytag Island farm, near Richville, MN, where they stayed for two and a half years and then went to the Bill Lee farm near Perham. In October of 1948, the couple purchased their own farm south of Richville. In 1970-71, Carl and Ada moved off the farm to live near Richville until 1980 when they relocated to New York Mills, MN, to reside in the Kaleva Apartments. Carl died on January 28, 1996. That same year, Ada came back to live in Perham in the St. James Manor. She was a resident at Perham Memorial Nursing Home since 2002. Ada enjoyed knitting, crocheting and reading.

Surviving Ada is one daughter, Barbara Rust, of Fergus Falls, MN; five sons, Gordon (Delores), of Perham, MN, Kenneth (Eileen), of Campbell, MN, Jerome (Patricia), of Richville, MN, Warren (Linda), of Bluffton, MN, and Richard (Casey), of Ravensdale, WA; fourteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; numerous step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Preceding Ada in death are her parents; her husband, Carl; an infant daughter, Beverly; two grandsons, Jimmy Cassidy and Robbie Rust; one granddaughter, Jenny Rust; two sisters and one brother.

Schoeneberger Funeral Home, Perham, MN, is in charge of the arrangements.
