Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22, at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Galesburg, with the Rev. Kurt Carlsen of Zion Lutheran Church, North Henderson, officiating. Entombment will be at Oak Lawn Veterans Mausoleum. No family visitation or calling hours are planned. Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Alexis, is in charge of arrangements.
She was born June 17, 1934, in Davenport, the daughter of Richard and Lucille (Biebinger) Proksch. She attended Rock Island High School. She had received an award from the American Legion when she was in 8th grade. She married Robert Pauley in 1952. She later married Donald Goossens in Moline in 1970, and he survives.
She had worked at Montgomery Ward for 15 years and had worked in various restaurants in the Quad-Cities area. She and her husband operated a ceramic shop in Moline for several years. She loved to make quilts.
Jeri was a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church.
Her family includes her husband, Donald; one daughter, Bobbie Lee (Harry) Stelling, Arizona; four sons, Kim (Jean) Pauley, East Moline, Lynn (Cynthia) Pauley, Taylor Ridge, James (Judy) Pauley, Milan, and Mark (Jill) Pauley, Moline; four stepchildren, Ronald (Delores) Goossens, Davenport, Raymond Goossens, Viola, Donald (Lisa) Goossens, Los Angles, Calif., and William (Joanne Kellar) Goossens, Des Moines, Iowa; 15 grandchildren, Eli Stelling, Ryan Pauley, Jennifer (David Baker) Pauley, Kenneth Pauley, Robert (Brandi) Pauley, Christopher Loete, Eric Pauley, Vanessa Harlan, Mason Pauley, Brock Pauley, Logan Pauley, Reese Pauley, Jessica Pauley, Jenna Pauley and Jake Thompson; five sisters, Jean Bruce, Janice Wittig, Joy Anderson, Jane Johnson and June Ringer; and one brother, Tom Proksch; along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Kenneth E. Pauley; two sisters; and two brothers.
