Francis G. Chipman. 23, 1898, of dropsy. His age was 69 years. He had been an invalid for several years. The funeral was held today from the residence of Jacob L. Hawkins with whom the deceased had resided for some time; buried at Mountain Home cemetery. The deceased formerly resided in Kalamazoo and was a brother of the late Delia Chipman, who died in this city a little more than a year ago. The family came to Kalamazoo from western New York at an early day, and was well known to all the older citizens. The only surviving member is a brother, General Henry L. Chipman, a retired United States army officer who resides at Detroit, but at present is at San Antonio, Texas. Judge L. N. Burke received a telegram from him yesterday, giving instructions as to his brother's burial. Kalamazoo Daily Telegraph April 25, 1898 page 5
