Mrs. George Colt suffered a stroke of paralysis last Saturday and died at her home on West street at 1 o'clock yesterday morning. She had been a resident of this city tor many years and was a highly esteemed lady. Mrs. Colt. was born in Massachusetts, July 1, 1812, her maiden name being Maria L. Foster. About the year 1838, she became the wife of Mr. George Colt, who passed away a little over a year ago. They removed to this city and only a few years ago celebrated their golden wedding, Mrs. Colt was the mother of three children, two of whom are now living, Mrs. Lucretia Champlin and Mrs. Geo. Taylor, George Colt, Jr. died some 10 years ago in the west. She was a member of the First Congregational church, The funeral will be held from the house Saturday afternoon at 2:30, interment will take Place at Mountain Home. Kalamazoo Gazette April 25, 1890
