John Robert Kelly, Jr., 47, of J-74 Guest House Court died Sunday at a Rome hospital after a short illness.
Mr. Kelley was a born in Floyd County on July 16, 1945, son of Clara Hoovers Kelley and the late John Robert Kelly, Sr. Before retirement he was employed as a pipefitter with Gresco Mechanical Construction Co. He was of the Baptist Faith and served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam era.
Survivors include his mother; his wife, Linda Rogers Kelley, to whom he was married Jan. 22, a daughter, Mrs. Stacie Lynn Brownholtz, Calhoun; a son, John Robert Kelly, III, Cedartown; four sisters, Mrs. Elaine Barnes, Mrs. Emerye Waits, Mrs. Yvonne Highfield, and Mrs. Sandra Stroud, all of Rome; three brothers, Harvey Kelley, Robert Kelley, and Ronnie Kelley, all of Rome; two grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Emmanuel Baptist Church with the Rev. David Thornton and the Rev. Kenneth Fincher officiating. Interment will be at Bellview Cemetery.
