Onaga Herald, December 22, 1966:
Father of Robert Brown Dies Christmas Day
Mr. Albert G. Brown, 71, passed away Christmas Day at his home at Holton, the victim of leukemia. He was the father of Robert D. Brown, former music instructor in the Onaga schools.
Services were at 10 o'clock Wednesday morning at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton with burial in the Holton cemetery. Holton Lodge No. 82, AF&AM conducted the graveside services.
Born June 15, 1896 at Beloit, he spent most of his life in the Holton community and served two terms as Sheriff of Jackson County. He managed the Ford garage at Holton before he retired about ten years ago.
He was a member of the Holton Methodist Church, Lodge No. 42, AF&AM, the American Legion Post and the Scottish Rite. He was a veteran of World War One.
Other survivors include his wife, Gladys, of the home; another son, Dr. Forrest D. Brown of Lawrence; two sisters, Mrs. Edna Morrisey of Holton and Mrs. Leona Bailey of Topeka, and seven grandchildren.
