Harold Barnett, 80, of St. Augustine, Fla. passed away at Hospice in Jacksonville, FL on September 7, 2008. Harold was born in Menifee County to Curt and Mary Proffitt Barnett. He lived much of his life in Menifee County and later moved with his job as a pattern engineer with Genesco to Nashville, Tenn. In 1986 he retired after a 44-year career. Harold was a member of Park Avenue Baptist Church in Nashville. Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday followed by burial in the family lot at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The Reverend Gene Roberts will officiate the service. Mr. Barnett is survived by his wife Doris Jean Jackson Barnett of St. Augustine; son Harold Barnett of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.; 2 daughters, Linda Haines of San Antonio, Texas and Cindy Reese of St. Augustine; granddaughter, Lindsey Haines of San Antonio; sister, Erma Cook of Frankfort, Ky; brother, Roy Barnett of Cummin, Ga. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Tressa Choate and twin brother, Carold (Blackie) Barnett.
