Ronald D. Russell, age 57, of Millersville Road, passed away at the Catawba Valley Medical Center in Hickory, following an extended illness. He was the son of the late Horace H. Russell and Artie Lowe Russell. He was a member of White Plains Baptist Church. He was employed with Broyhill Furniture, Inc. for 34 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Roger Charlie Russell. Survivors include his wife Deborah Wike Russell; sons, Roger D. Russell (Shannon) of Taylorsville and Daniel Ryan Russell of the home; daughter, April Dawn Russell also of the home; granddaughter, Serena L. Russell; several nieces and nephews; two brothers, Harold Russell and wife Gaynell of Taylorsville and Gerald Russell (Mary) of Statesville; two sisters, Lorene Kerley (Leo) and Darlene Davidson (Tommy), both of Taylorsville; father and mother-in-law, Mr. & Mrs. James M. Wike; sister-in-law, Donna Wike. Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 7, 2006 at White Plains Baptist Church with Rev. Tony Daniels officiating.
