FERDINAND TILFORD CARROLL WAS THE SON OF CHARLES WESLEY/WILLIAM AND MATILDA ALICE YATES CARROLL.

HE MARRIED VONIA LOU DUNHAM 29 NOV 1905 IN HAWKINS COUNTY, TENNESSEE. GOD BLESSED THIS MARRIAGE WITH THE FOLLOWING CHILDREN: BEULAH MAE, THOMAS HOWARD, ELLA LOU, CHARLES LINCOLN, EZRA CONNER, FERDINAND TILFORD JR "LITTLE FT", JAMES EVERETT, GOLDIE ALICE, LEATRICE GENELLA, BETTY JO MARCELENE AND STILLBORN TWIN DAUGHTERS CARROLL.

HE WAS A BAPTIST MINISTER, FARMER AND CARPENTER WHO BUILT THE 50'S HOUSES ON SULLIVAN STREET IN KINGSPORT, TENNESSEE.

FERDINAND TILFORD CARROLL WAS THE SIBLING OF MINNIE ANNE, NORA, MAGGIE PENELOPE AND CHARLES WINTON CARROLL.

FERDINAND TILFORD CARROLL WAS MY MATERNAL GRANDFATHER.

PERSIA – Rev. Ferdinand Tilford Carroll went home to be with his Lord and Savior on July 13, 1937, after an extended illness.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles W. and Matilda Alice Yates Carroll; one son, Frank Tilford "Little F T" and twin daughters.

He is survived by his wife, Vonia Lou Dunham Carroll; five daughters, Mae, Ella, Goldie, Leatrice and Marcelene; and four sons, Howard, Charles, Conner and James.

Interment will be in the Carters Valley Community Cemetery in Surgoinsville.

PERSIA, Tenn., July 14 - Funeral services for Rev. F. T. Carroll, former resident of Kingsport who died at this home here yesterday, will be conducted tomorrow at 2 p.m. from the Oak Dale Church with the Rev. Pleis Jenkins and Rev. Dale officiating.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Vona Carroll, and nine children: Mae and Seba of Red Bank, New Jersey; Howard of Kingsport; Mrs. Ella Holt of Jonesville, Va.; Conner of St. Clair, Tenn.; James, Goldia, Nell and Marceline, of Persia; seven grandchildren also survive.

Pall and flower bearers will be selected from neighbors and friends of the family.
