Mrs. Brockup was born on Swihart Street in Columbia City on July 8, 1920, a daughter of William and Alma VanWey Leininger, who are both deceased. She has resided her entire life in Columbia City.
In August 1935, she was married in Warsaw to Eldridge Brockup, who died on Dec.27, 1988. Mrs. Brockup was a homemaker.
Surviving family members include one son, Elwood L. Brockup of Columbia City; two daughters, Mrs. John (Shirley Ann) Dear of Columbia City and Mrs. Richard (Sharon) VonHolt of Muldrow, Oklahoma; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Rachel Fuller of Columbia City.
One sister preceded Mrs. Brockup in death.
Private family graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, May 31, at Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne, with the Rev. Morris Scutt officiating.
There will be no calling.
Service arrangements are by Hollingsworth Memorial Chapel, Columbia City.
