Rites for Mrs Anna Teslow to be Held Today
Funeral services will be held this (Thursday) afternoon for Mrs Anna Teslow from the home of her son, Ben H Teslow in Union Prairie, Allamakee county, and from the Glenwood Lutheran Church, the Rev Alfred Bredeson officiating.
Mrs Teslow was 86 at the time of her death which came to end three years of suffering during which time she was in bed.
Mrs Teslow before her marriage was Miss Anna Hendrickson, the daughter of Hans and Cecilia Hendrickson. She was born in Glenwood township, Winneshiek county, March 3, 1851. In 1875 she was married to Ole Teslow and they settled on a farm in Allamakee county where they lived for forty years. In 1915 they rented the farm to their son Ben and moved to Decorah. Mr Teslow died in 1933. Mrs Teslow had been in failing health for about a year when she moved back to the farm to spend the remainder of her days.
Mr and Mrs Teslow were the parents of nine children. Two sons preceded their parents in death. The surviving children are C L Teslow, Fargo, ND; Ingeman Teslow, Bismarch, ND; Edwin, Decorah; Celia (Mrs Hans Hersrud), Horace, ND; Amelia, (Mrs B K Benson), Davenport, ND; Olga (Mrs Herb Beall), Waukon and Ben of Waukon.
One brother, Henry Hendrickson, of Radcliffe, Iowa, also survives and there are 18 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Mrs Teslow's death brings sorrow to her many friends and yet it also brings her relief from years of bed-ridden suffering. She will be missed by those who knew her and their comfort shall be that she at last is at peace.
