ATHENS - Memorial services for Edbert "Ed" C. Cline, 89, Athens, are scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Monday at First Presbyterian Church of Athens with the Rev. Joe Warren officiating.
Burial with full military honors will be in Oaklawn Memorial Park. under direction of Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home, Athens.
Mr. Cline died Oct. 23, 2008.
He was born Aug. 22, 1919, in Murchison to the late Bert Monroe Cline and Ida Mayme Barfoot. He retired from the Army after 24 years service, during which time he served in World War II and the Korean War, and later as a military advisor to the Japanese Army. He received several medals including a Bronze Star. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Frances A. Holley Cline.
Survivors include his son, Mark Cline, Athens; daughter, Denise Ann Lebkowsky, Waco; and two grandchildren.
