William BURKETT, 85, a resident of the Richland Center community for the past 60 Years, died at his home a mile southeast of Richland Center at 1:30 a.m. E ST today following a year's serious illness.
A retired farmer, Mr. Burkett was born Aug. 26, 1869, at Burr Oak, Ind ., to Ephriam and Amanda OVERMYER BURKETT. He was married Oct. 28, 1893, to Martha DUDGEON who preceded him in death four Years ago.
He was a member of the Richland Center Methodist church. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Leo MOW, R.R. 5, Rochester; a son, Walter BURKETT, R.R. 3, Rochester; seven grandchildren. Five brothers and three sisters preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 1:30 p.m. EST at the Richland Center Methodist church with the Rev. Dale HAMILTON officiating. Burial will be made in the I.O.O.F. cemetery at Richland Center.
The body was removed to the Burkett residence from the Foster funeral home at 4 p.m. today. Friends may call at the home until an hour before the last rites, when the body will be taken to the church to lie in state.
