He married Narcissus Tennessee Billingsley on November 22, 1888 in Childress, Texas. They had 4 Children Ethel Mae (1889-1987), Lida lee (1893-1952), James Newton (1895-1964), and Jesse Allen (1898-1967). He was married to Narcissus for 42 years. He passed away on June 20, 1931 in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico at the age of 72. He was predeceased in death by his Parents Newton and Margaret Laughlin, Sisters Tina White, Martha Laughlin, Edna Robbins, Newton Williams, Brothers William Laughlin and Donald Laughlin. He was survived by his wife of 42 Narcissus, Daughters Ethel Roberson and husband Clyde of Hot Springs, New Mexico and Lida Amend and husband Finis of Trinchera, New Mexico, Sons James Laughlin of Hot Springs, New Mexico and Jesse Laughlin and husband Eva of Hot Springs, New Mexico, 7 Grandchildren Allen, Wayne and Clyde Les Roberson, Nina and James Amend and Wayne and Eula Laughlin, Sisters Parolee Wilson of Midlothian, Texas, Nancy Harman of Cleburne, Texas and Cora Keesee of Electra, Texas and Brother Ben Laughlin of Morgan Mill, Texas. As of 2019 he has 3 Grandchildren, 15 Great-Grandchildren, 40 Great-Great-Grandchildren, 26 Great-Great-Great-Grandchildren and 7 Great-Great-Great-Great-Grandchildren.
