John A. Lendraitis, 75, of 7 Woodland Dr., Leicester, MA, died in St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester, after an illness.
He left his wife, Helen (Krochalis) Lendraitis; and several nephews and nieces. He was born in Worcester, son of John and Julia (Kriksciunis) Lendraitis, and moved to Leicester in 1955.

John and his wife were dear friends of my parents and were the godparents to one of my sister's. They were wonderful people.

Mr. Lendraitis was a toolmaker at the former Crompton & Knowles Corp. plant in Worcester, where he worked for 40 years. He retired in 1979.
He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II, serving in the Asian-Pacific theater.
Mr. Lendraitis was a member of the 1st Marine Division Association;
Cherry Valley Post 443, American Legion; Worcester Chapter 4, Disabled American Veterans; the Lithuanian War Veterans Organization in Shrewsbury; and the Senior Citizens Club of Leicester.
The funeral was held Tuesday from Morrison Funeral Home, 1131 Main St., with a Mass following in St. Pius X Church, 1154 Main St. Burial was in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
