Charles Edward Coleman, 72, died Thursday, April 13, 2006, at Glenvue Nursing Home. The Tattnall County native had lived in Glennville all his life. He was employed with Dasher's Texaco for many years, and owned Coleman's Service Station and the Friendly Inn Café. He was retired from the City of Glennville, and was a member of Glennville Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Lillian K. Coleman of Glennville; children: Marilyn King, Sarah and Louis Manor, and Charles Coleman, Jr., all of Glennville; Margaret K. Drinks, William and Sharon King, and James and Ilen King, all of Stone Mountain; Diann and James Roberts; Narcy and Timmy Brown of Ludowici; Rufus and Carol King of Conyers; and Edward and Connie Coleman of Lawrenceville; sisters, Annie Joyce Lett of Glennville and Donna Sapp of Bowen, Florida; a brother, Gene Bennett of Chicago, Illinois; 35 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 17, at Carter Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Curtis Coleman officiating. Burial was in Glennville City Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Chris Ross, Jamie Roberts, Jimmy Walker, Nick Roberts, James King, and Louis Manor.
Carter Funeral Chapel of Glennville, Georgia, was in charge of the arrangements.
