Son of Tobias Wolfinger. an early settler of Lucas County, was born in Maumee City.Married, June 21, 1856, Mary A. Spurck. Two children were the issue of this marriage: George Lewis, and Grace Alta. He was a Carpenter and Painter by trade. August 26. 1861, he enlisted as Corporal in Co. I, 14th O. V. I., and was discharged December 14, 1863. He re-enlisted December 15, 1863, as Sargent, Co. I, 1st Regiment United States Veteran Volunteer Engineers, and was discharged at Nashville, September 26, 1865. He died June 17, 1875. He enlisted with his brother William.
