She was born on March 30, 1915, in Denmark, daughter of the late John and Anna (Christman) Duffek Sr.
Evelyn was a graduate of St. Luke Catholic Grade School, Two Rivers, class of 1929. She began her employment as a clerk at S.S. Kresge's Department Store and Buerstatte Drug Store in Manitowoc, and also was a waitress at Mary's Cape Cod Inn and Koral's Bar & Grill for many years. Evelyn was a member of the Manitowoc Senior Center and the Eagles Auxiliary.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law: James and Barb Boeldt, and Deacon Alan and Kay Boeldt; a daughter and son-in-law: Patricia and Ralph Elliott, all of Manitowoc; six grandchildren: Sharon Boeldt, Milwaukee; Michael Boeldt, Carlsbad, Calif.; Lisa and Phil Kreie; Brent Boeldt and special friend, Heidi Meyer; Scott Elliott and special friend, Marcia Niven; and Darin Elliott, all of Manitowoc; seven great-grandchildren: Christopher McDonell and special friend, Chantel Czerp; Jennifer and Jason Krogh; Samantha and Mason Zich; Tiffany Schultz; Amber Greunke; Taylor Elliott; and Logan Elliott; six great-great-grandchildren: Abbigael, Delaney, Kathryn, Payge, Aaliyah and Tayha; and a sister-in-law: Lorraine Krouse, Manitowoc. Nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends also survive.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and sisters-in-law, three brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 23, 2008, at The Pfeffer Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc.
Officiating at the service will be her son, Deacon Alan Boeldt, with burial on Friday morning at Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers.
The family will greet relatives and friends at The Pfeffer Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc, from 5 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 23, 2008, until the time of the service at 7 p.m.
