---Mrs. Mary Margaret Boyd was born April 26, 1876 in Macon County, the daughter of George and Christina Youst Hoffman.
---She was married to Robert Boyd January 16, 1876 and to this union were born seven sons and four daughters. Mrs. Boyd died Tuesday, March 6, at 12:23 p.m. at her Elmer home.
---Preceding her in death were her parents, one sister, and two sons, Carl and Richard.
---Survivors include her husband, five sons, Ernest and Melville of the home, Russell of La Plata, Robert of Decatur, Illinois and George of Fort Madison; four daughters, Mrs. Edna Wacker of Kansas City, Kansas, Mrs. William (Abbie) Sweezer of Fort Madison, Iowa, Mrs. Agnes Sweezer and Mrs. Herbert (Elizabeth) Epperson of Elmer; two brothers, Lewis Hoffman of Elmer and William Hoffman of La Plata; one sister Mrs. Elizabeth Henderson of Elmer, fifteen grandchildren and twenty-seven great-grandchildren.
---She was a member of the United Brethern Church.
---Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Elmer Assembly of God Church, Rev. C.O. Templeton and Rev. D.A. Drake officiating. Burial was in the Bell Cemetery west of Elmer.
