William Thomas "Bill" Eddings, 94, of Muskogee, died Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at Eastgate Village Retirement Center. He was born November 5, 1913 in Coalgate, Oklahoma to Thomas Frank and Thursey Caroline (Criner) Eddings.
In 1941, Bill graduated from Oklahoma A & M in Stillwater with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture.

On November 13, 1942, at the start of World War II, Bill entered the U. S. Army. He served under General Patton with the 70th Tank Battalion, Armored Tank Division in Europe, Africa, Germany, Sicily and Switzerland until his honorable discharge on November 12, 1945.

In 1946, Bill began working as a Vocational Agricultural Instructor in Allen, Oklahoma. In 1951, he began a career as a Soil Conservationist with the Bureau of Indian Affairs which took him to Stillwell, Wewoka, Okmulgee and then Muskogee in 1965. He retired in 1980.

While living in Allen, Bill met Pauline Short. They dated about two years before getting married in 1949 at McAlester, Oklahoma. Pauline preceded him in death on July 8, 2002.

Also preceding Bill in death were his parents and one grandson, Jonathan Hall. He is survived by three sons, Terry Eddings and his wife, Mary, of Muskogee, Bill Eddings of Ft. Worth, TX and Jerry Eddings and his wife, Amber, of Farris, TX; grandchildren, Cara Warren and her husband, David, of Littleton, CO, Courtney Lott and her husband, Jeremy, of Los Angeles, CA, Brian Eddings and his wife, Wen, of Muskogee and Amanda York and her husband, Brett, of Norman, and Michael, Ethan, L.M., and Katelyn Eddings of Farris, TX, great-grandchildren, Jack Warren of Littleton, CO, Dylan Eddings of Muskogee and Isabella York of Norman, OK and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Thursday, October 30, 2008 at Fosters' Ivory Chapel with Rev. Marsha Purtell officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tommy Eddings, Ricky Eddings, Fred Hunter, Bill Baines, Harold Todd and Brian Eddings.
