Minerva Jane is the daughter of William Henry Smith and Maria Eloiza Quijada.

On November 10, 1894, she married first to William M. Clark (1866-1942). To them were born these children: Frank B. (1895-1963); Kathlyn (1899-1995) married William Pierre Inman; Helen Geneva (1902-198) married Raymond Clifford Schutte; William Edward born 1904; Maria L. (1907-2000) married Aloysius Hines; Charlie Horace (1913-1934); Eileen Verah (1917-1995) married Francis Otis Bridges.

Minerva married second to Thomas M. Watts (1875-1967).

Mrs. Minerva Watts of Auburn passed away in a local hospital last Thursday at the age of 84 years. She was a native of Oregon. Mrs. Watts had made her home in Auburn for the past five years, residing at 100 Aeolia Drive. She leaves her husband, Tom Watts of Auburn; daughters, Kathlyn Inman of Monrovia; Helen Schutte, Palm Desert; Marie Hinds (sic), San Jose; Eileen Bridges, Morgan Hills; a son, Frank Clark, San Jose; sisters, Bertha Ousey, Auburn; Laula Baldi, Camino; Anna Brooks, Sacramento; Louise Holmes, Eureka; and a brother, John Smith, Sweetwater. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon in the Vettestad & Sands Auburn Funeral Home with Rev. Albert Raugust officiating. Burial followed in Santa Clara on Tuesday.
