Every class we had together, Wain sat behind me. He could get me in so much trouble with his comical remarks. I think of him often and wonder where he'd be and what he'd have done with his life by now. When the Traveling Wall came to Forest Park East a few years ago, I looked up his name and that of my cousin. I have rubbings of both their names from that memorial.

Wain was one of our heroes. He should never be forgotten for the sacrifice he made for our great nation. I am honored to have gone to school with a real hero.
