MAGEE, Feb. 19 - Funeral rites for Mrs. Martha Ellen Jones, 83, life-long resident of Simpson county, were held from the Goodwater Baptist church of Magee with the pastor, Rev. B. H. Benton, officiating.
Rev. Benton was assisted in the services by the Rev. L. S. Gardner of Weathersby. Interment was in the Goodwater cemetery.
Mrs. Jones was a member of the Goodwater Baptist church. She had been in ill health for a long time and her death was not unexpected by the members of her family.
She is survived by one brother R. D. Stephens of Magee, and the following children: M. D. Jones of Magee, William Jones of Magee, Albert Jones of Rayville, La., and John Jones of Arkansas.
