Mrs. Dora Bowser, 70, of 4642 Mahoning Ave., died of a cerebral hemorrhage at 10:15 p.m. Thursday at the Schmidt Convalescent Home. She had been ill three months.
She was born Aug. 17, 1888, in Zep, Va., a daughter of Joseph and Lavalette Eskendge[Eskridge] Williams and came to Youngstown from Cumberland, Md., in 1914 and has lived in the Austintown area since 1928.
She was a member of West Austintown EUB Church, a secretary for the Women's Missionary Society and a member of the Austintown WCTU.
Besides her husband, Samuel A., whom she married in 1915, she leaves a son William J. of Wickliffe; three daughters, Mrs. Marilyn Davis of Canfield, Mrs. Maxine Moore of North Jackson and Mrs. Betty Jane Roberds of Silver Spring, Md.; three sisters, Mrs. Claud Kitzmiller of Elkins, W.Va., Mrs. George Buffington of Pasadena, Tex., and Mrs. Hershel Rudolph of Zepp, Va.; three brothers, Frank Williams of Elkins, W.Va., Paul Williams of Gainesville, Va., and Russell Williams of Woodstock, Va., and 10 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Austintown Chapel of the Lane Funeral Home where friends may call from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Saturday.
