A Canadian ambulance driver in the Second World War, he was part of the bloody Allied march from Sicily. up the Italian boot, culminating in the great Canadian victory at Ortana. He then joined the advance through the quagmire of broken dikes in Belgium and Holland to open up the deep water port of Antwerp to get gasoline for Patton's tanks. It was the costliest action in Canadain military history.
When he got home he went to work for the National War Veterans Hospital in St. Anne-de-Bellevue serving disabled Canadian Veterans until he retired at age 65 years old.
He was also my God Father.
